Unfortunately the history books usually just indicate mixtures of whites and Native Americans. And it is most unfortunate for this, but it seems most of the time only the mixture of white and Native American get recognized. This has to change! when I was taking a course on Native American history in college, my professor failed to mention any mixtures that produced the maroons. He only talked about the white mixture, which is most unfortunate. I immediately wrote a research paper with accurate accounts that there were the black mixtures as well. Somehow my native american guide once again has guided me to a connection point of like minds and souls. My families lineage is situated in central Virgina(Danville area) and N.C. I have began this journey of tracing my own native ancestry. From a logistical standpoint, I have i.d. the Cherokee or Monocan tribes to be the dominant influence in this part of Virginia..although, I have asked Spirit to continue to guide me to truth and light and have recieved atleast (1) vision/dream in response. This vision/dream was seeing my uncle planting and tilling the land during sunrise. He was chanting in a low gutteral tone. When I asked him to teach me this chanting song, he quickly responed, "It tis for men only". This is also the only uncle whom my grandfather taught a closely guarded ceremonial act, entitled, "Talking the Fire" to. My grandfather (a healer), apparently learned of this through his mother who is alleged to have been native american and that's where my research begins and ends. I know that it was done in private with the injured or sickly was thought to remove heat and sickness from the body. Living family members who had recieved such a healing remember only feeling better after their session was over and nothing else!! So, if there is anyone out there who may have a clue as to the religious practices of these Virginian tribes or have heard of "Talking the Fire", by all means email me @ , I will be most appreciative.. Presently I work in North Carolina. Do you know any of us? We respond to your calls for help when your most vulnerable. Did you ever take the time to come and meet us at the local fire station? One day you or a loved one will depend on us to save your life at a time of crisis in your life. Do you know what you are getting? Like every profession in this country we have good and bad people. Do you know the difference? It could cost you your life. In my 14 years I have seen things that would shock the toughest person and at that point it is when I must perform at my best. Some people in my profession really don't care about you or your welfare. I have seen them steal money off of dead bodies of our loved ones. I have seen them not act when they should have, and the patient has died. I have seen them do the wrong thing causing further complications to your injuries. I have seen them do things that have paralyzed someone for life. Most of these crimes are hidden and most families do nothing to expose them. If for one-second you think every paramedic in this country is honest and trust worthy, you will definitely become prey to them. Please help me expose these people as there are many of them collecting a pay check from your tax dollars. In Hampton, Virginia, Medic/Firefighters are deliberately withholding and delaying care to minority patients who call 911, causing serious injury and death. I am calling for an independent investigation into these activities. Please view the below site and see the evidence for your self. In Hampton the evidence is over whelming that this goes on. In one such case two African American males were denied treatment and care withheld for a documented 56 minutes while they bled to death. The state EMS board is finally investigating this case. How can I affiliate myself with this association??? ===========On Sun May 20 19:37:17 ; Name: J. Mercado Comments: I recently purchased three basket trays in an antique store and were told they were made by American Indians in Africa. I am searching for info confirming or clarifying this info. They are a tightly woven pattern with the use of pale yellows, pinks, blues and black. The pattern uses an animal pictograph and radiates from the center. I was told it is most likely made by Africans copying Native American patterns. Any feedback would be appreciated. mercadoj@cntech.com ===========On Mon May 21 16:21:54 ; Name: ralph mays Comments: hi i am a black indian my mother was saginaw chippewa and my farther was black im so glad to see this kind of thing going on . feel free to contact me . im a outreach worker at detroit indian education & cultural center . my phone # is {313} 596-3775 ===========On Tue May 22 01:36:08 ; Name: Robert Hubbard Comments: I am told I have Native American Blood on both my parents ancesters.
